Key matches to watch

PSG vs Barcelona

The headline fixture brings two sides with perfect starts into a direct meeting near the top of the table. Both had six points from their opening two matches before Matchday 3, making this an early test of their consistency in the 36-team league phase.

Liverpool vs Villarreal

Liverpool welcome Villarreal to Anfield. The Spanish side arrive with three points from two games, while Liverpool have won both of their opening fixtures. The result could reshape the positions around the top eight.

Manchester City vs AEK Athens

City host AEK Athens after taking three points from their first two games. AEK have also collected three points, so the meeting is important for both teams as they try to move into the upper half.

Stuttgart vs Atlético de Madrid

Stuttgart began strongly with two wins, while Atlético have three points. Stuttgart can strengthen their early top-eight position; Atlético need a result to close the gap.

How the 2026/27 league phase works

The competition has 36 clubs in one league table. Each team plays eight matches against different opponents. After the league phase, the top eight go directly to the Round of 16, teams placed ninth to 24th enter the knockout play-offs, and clubs ranked 25th to 36th are eliminated.

Kick-off times and fixtures can change only if UEFA issues an update. Follow the official UEFA match centre for live scores, line-ups and final results. This preview was prepared before kick-off and will need updating after the matches.
