What happened
The crash occurred on the Anadolu Motorway in Düzce province, on the Ankara-bound side near Kaynaşlı. The car carrying Gültekin collided with another vehicle travelling in the same direction. Emergency and police teams responded, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
AK Party Düzce provincial chair Hasan Şengüloğlu said medical teams treated Gültekin for about an hour and a half. He said doctors were assessing whether he suffered a heart attack after the shock of the crash; that explanation was not presented as a final medical finding.
