Inter turn the match around after an early setback
Inter Milan responded to an early goal by Bologna with a composed 3-1 comeback victory on Saturday, October 17, strengthening their position at the top of Serie A. Tommaso Pobega put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute, but Marcus Thuram brought Inter level just before halftime.
The visitors took control after the break. Carlos Augusto and Ange-Yoan Bonny scored in the second half to complete the turnaround and secure Inter’s sixth win in seven league matches. The result lifted Inter to 19 points, two clear of second-placed Roma, who also won on Saturday.
Why the result matters
The victory was an important response after Inter’s midweek Champions League defeat to Club Brugge. It also showed the depth of Cristian Chivu’s side: goals came from Thuram, Augusto and Bonny as Inter maintained their unbeaten start in the league.
Bologna had taken an early lead and threatened again before the break, but Inter’s equaliser shifted the momentum. The visitors were sharper after halftime and converted their chances to leave with all three points.
